molitor was able to convince the judging panel thanks to its idea of a back-lit, translucent strip, which runs from outside into the foyer, in front of the glass façade of the building. The new design element effectively brings together the public area and museum hallway, thus contributing to the Forum for Contemporary History appearing more prominent to those passing by.
The way in which these spaces are managed means that the foyer is also upgraded, as it is possible to show important original items from the collection in front of the strip (which is pulled down to the ground). This, in turn, conveys a special aura under the luminous hollow groove. There is an additional display available outside in the form of a vertical surface. Here, current exhibitions can be advertised.
