The focus of the permanent exhibition is on the cat as a specialised hunter. The exhibition conveys knowledge about the physique, senses and way of life of cats in an entertaining way.
The zoo’s animal facilities are gradually being adapted to today’s husbandry conditions. This is also the case with the redesign of the predator house, which has been renamed the “empire of cats”.
The focus here is on species-appropriate husbandry, more space and a near-natural habitat for the animals. Instead of a sterile atmosphere, rows of cages and thick bars, spacious and natural enclosures were created.
