Media and Politics
Date: 01/2014 – 11/2015
Location: Leipzig, Bonn
Client: Stiftung Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland
The exhibition addresses the function of the media as the ‘Fourth Estate’ within the state. It compares the development of a free media landscape in Germany with the control of the press and broadcasting during the Marxist-Leninist one-party state (SED) and traces its progression right up to the current challenges posed by the digital revolution.
molitor created the exhibition for the House of History with an array of individually arranged rooms, where themes (e.g. investigative journalism or plagiarism research for dissertations of politicians) are implemented in scenographic installations.
