Take-Off. The Dream of Flight
Date: 11/2010 – 11/2011
Location: Stadthaus Ulm
Client: Stadt Ulm, Hauptabteilung Kultur
The Ulm tailor Albrecht Ludwig Berblinger’s dream of flight ended in the Danube on 31 May 1811, rather than in triumphant success, and earned him the contempt of the population of Ulm. Today, he is seen as a pioneer of aviation.
The concept behind the ‘Take-off – the dream of flight’ exhibition is to bring together many interactive components and a comprehensive accompanying programme to present one of the focuses of Ulm’s year-long bicentenary celebration of Berblinger’s attempt at flight. At well over 1,000 m2 in size, the exhibition is spread across the entire second and third floors, as well as the terraces, of the Stadthaus.
