Arno Schmidt (1914–1974) is viewed as the most prominent wordsmith of the West German post-war period. The major exhibition entitled “Arno Schmidt? Absolutely!” looks into the written style of this author, who was as much a fan of traditional style as he was of the avant garde.
Over 500 objects from Schmidt’s estate are presented in various rooms designed in different ways. Projections, complex animated writing and audiovisual installations bring his richly imaginative and witty body of work to life.
